Hi, all
Steven and I are in Franklin this weekend for a seminar with speakers and attendees from 15 states. Steven is videotaping the entire thing, and I am helping out backstage.
This evening, I had about 20 minutes to rush out into rush hour traffic and get us something to eat before Steven had to start taping again.
I went to the Jack in a Box drive-thru, and when I pulled up to the window to get the order, the teenaged boy working there got excited when he saw our car magnets which say, "We buy houses"
"Do you buy houses and flip 'em?" he asked.
"Sure do," I replied, even though we have yet to flip one...I like to operate under the "act as if" principle!
In a nutshell, this young man is interested in real estate investing. He told me that his father is a carpenter and his mother likes to decorate so she could make the houses look nice. Then he said his father won't do it because it was too risky!
I explained about how education was an important factor in minimizing risk in real estate investing, and told him about our local REIA meeting. I also gave him my card and told him to email me if he was interested in birddogging.
I drove off in a glow! It was so exciting to see the enthusiasm of this young man, and hopefully play a part in helping his dream come true! Flipping burgers vs. flipping houses...Steven and I think he has his priorities and dreams in the right place!
